Welcome to Class Two
About Our Class
About our class
In Class 2 our Year 7 students work in a range of situations, including whole class, collaborative group and individual learning, working both independently and with adults. Students have an allocated seating plan according to individual needs, this may vary in different lessons.
Students are supported by the Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy teams and two full time teaching and learning assistants.
Our Day
Our day begins with meeting time when we use visual timetables to go through the day ahead. We also take the lunch register. We also provide information about any changes in routine – such as trips, or visitors or staff or room changes to ensure students are carefully prepared.
Meeting Times include activities such as reading our class novel, working on our UNITE Speech and Language programme and exploring current events via Newsround and Picture news.
Our Timetable
In Class 2, we have five one hour long lessons a day (except Tuesdays where we have an extra lesson)
- We have Maths and English five times a week.
- Other lessons include Science, History, Geography, ICT, DT, Art, RE, PE, Music and Life Skills.
On a Wednesday and Thursday, we have Enrichment activities at the end of the day. The pupils pick their own activities from a range of options, which change each term or half term.
Our class timetables can be found in the attachments section on this page.
We strive to meet the individual needs of students both within lessons and through intervention programmes that develop literacy and numeracy skills and address social, speech, language and physical needs.
